Phone call to the World

PHONE CALL TO THE WORLD is one of 17 global projects commissioned by the British Council that explores climate change and environmental crises through art, science and digital technology.

Groups of young people from three continents are engaging with climate change issues that impact them at a local level, coming together  to consider the wider global climate challenge. Using the simple holding framework of Phone Call to the World , young people from Scotland, South Africa, Palestine, England and India are creating digital performance work that will inform, question, confront and make demands of its different audiences to make a difference to one of the most pressing issues of our time.

Scottish Seabird Centre

The Scottish Seabird Centre is a conservation and education charity in the beautiful coastal town of North Berwick. It is supported by a 5-star visitor experience where you’re invited to explore the wonders of Scotland’s incredible marine environment through their interactive exhibits or on one of their seasonal wildlife boat trips. They also run a series of wildlife walks and outdoor learning activities throughout the year designed to help people connect with nature. 


TechFest is an innovative charity which consistently provides quality STEM events throughout Scotland and with over 35 years experience in promoting STEM subjects.

WayWORD Festival

WayWORD is a student and youth-led literary arts festival brought to you by the WORD Centre for Creative Writing, University of Aberdeen and takes place between the 19th and 26th of September 2021.

Whale Arts

Since being set up by local people in 1992 WHALE Arts has firmly established itself as the cultural anchor organisation for Wester Hailes. As a community-led arts charity and social enterprise, WHALE Arts’ mission is to be the creative heart of a vibrant, thriving community. 

WHALE acts as a conduit between our community and creative opportunities through the direct delivery of projects, programmes and events and by connecting our community with city and national cultural partners.
