Explorathon @ WHALE Arts
Workshops for young people run by WHALE Arts. Research meets fun!
On Friday, 7-10 year-olds can join us for an interactive, creative session all about school dinners! Marketing researcher Mary Brennan will be providing inspiration for young artists.
On Saturday, primary school-aged children can get creative with a range of different activities! Namely:
- Join Kirsty, Adeel, Carsten, Dawn, Jean, Lana and Monica from the OPTIMA project for microscope fun!
- Jule Hildmann will be give you a chance to draw your ideal teacher
- With Michela Massimi, you can build your own (take-home!) DNA model and explore how scientists use things like this models to investigate nature
WHALE’s regular team and trusty artists-in-residence will also be on hand to help you have the best of times
Organised in partnership with WHALE Arts and Edinburgh Napier University. Michela’s activity is part of a European Research Council project Perspectival realism | Science, Knowledge and Truth from a Human Vantage Point, part of the European Commission Horizon 2020 programme (grant n. 647272)
